On your feet Leeds

Revitalise your working day by sitting less and moving more.

Get Set Leeds is supporting the On Your Feet Britain challenge, which is encouraging you to reboot and energize your working habits.

If you find yourself sedentary throughout the day, this Thursday 28th April is your opportunity to get the ball rolling for you and your colleagues. Workers across the country will be participating in fun and simple activities to get more active, whether working in the office or from home.

Try making some of these simple changes to move towards better health, motivation and concentration-

In the office?

  • Arrange standing or walking meetings. Perhaps get everyone to move around with each new agenda item
  • Use the stairs more
  • Walk to a colleague’s desk instead of phoning or emailing them
  • Run a lunchtime fitness workshop for the office
  • Walk to work, or get off a few stops earlier and walk the rest of the way

Working from home?

  • Stand during phone calls and virtual meetings
  • Take regular breaks from your computer to stand up and stretch
  • Get out of the house and go for a walk in your lunch break

Want to get your team involved?

“Many businesses in Leeds are already looking to develop active and healthy workforces and are supporting workers to be more active through the working day. Thursday’s national campaign creates the perfect opportunity for Leeds workers to sit less and move more.

If your business is looking to develop workplace health and wellbeing there is a lot of support on offer from Active Leeds.”
