Movers & Shakers event: how can we encourage people to stay physically active in Leeds?

A bunch of active people from Leeds have gathered together to have some great veggie curry, get active with playing table tennis, and, most importantly, chat about how they can make Leeds move more, why it’s important to do so, and what being a Mover&Shaker might involve.

The Movers&Shakers’ event took place on the 28th of January at Slung Low Community Hub in Holbeck. It aimed to put together people’s ideas regarding what they like to do, what they can do, when they can do it, how they would like to stay in touch with people, and what they want to hear from the Get Set Leeds team.

Participants shared their stories of how they keep themselves physically active, ideas of how they can make people in Leeds move more, and what skills they have in order to determine and motivate people to become more active. They were keen to stay in touch and further contribute to developing the Movers&Shakers’ charter.

If you would also like to be part of making Leeds a more active city, you can become a Mover&Shaker and/or get updates from the Get Set Leeds team by filling in this online form:
