If you love doing your daily walk or run in the Leeds parks, want to give a little bit back to the places that stood by you during the lockdown, or simply want to learn more about their benefits, you’ll be happy to find out that Love Leeds Parks is celebrating parks with their first Festival!
The Love Leeds Parks Festival will take place both online and in parks between 8th and 16th of August. The Festival will include five main days of online events that will be dedicated to the primary benefits that parks and green space bring to us daily: nature, sports, discussion, heritage, and play.
Yes, you’ve heard it right – there will also be a day entirely dedicated to sports and physical activity! On Tuesday, 11th of August, between 11am-3pm, the Love Leeds Parks team will be waiting for you in Woodhouse Moor with a roadshow stall with merchandise and engagement activities. Go down there and discuss about how you keep yourself active using the parks and green spaces in Leeds and have the chance to win some of their Love Leeds Parks merchandise.
All the other sports events will be online. Tune in on their Facebook page at 12 noon to watch a live interview with a Woodhouse Moor parkrunner. You will also get the chance to host your own Mini Olympics for your household in your home, garden, or local green space with minimal equipment. Last, but not least, you can also try out Tai Chi and other sports at home using the videos on the Active Leeds YouTube channel.
